The Investment and Trade Court awarded QAR 800,000 in compensation to a motor accident victim who sustained a 54% permanent disability, holding the driver and vehicle owner jointly liable, alongside the insurer.
Lawyer Ali Hafeed Al Marri, representing the claimant, relied on a criminal judgment establishing the driver’s fault and medical reports confirming the permanent disability and its impact on his client’s ability to work and lead a normal life.
The court found that fault, damage and causation were established and awarded compensation for material, physical and moral damages.
